Tamás has been working with Hungarian regional development institutions since 1993 and participated in the implementation of the first Hungarian regional development programme of Phare. In the framework of the Phare programme he assisted the establishment then the further development of the new regional level institutions in Hungary: The Regional Development Agencies and Regional Development Councils. Since 1996 he occupied senior management positions related to the programming and implementation of each Phare regional development programmes in Hungary.
He played leading role in setting up National Agency for Regional Development (NARD) in Vati (Hungarian Institute for Urban and Regional Development) and the transformation of the organizational structure and processes of NARD. After leaving the position of deputy director of NARD he supervised EDIS-related developments of NARD as special Commissioner to the Minister.
As appointed Head of Managing Authority of the Regional Development Operational Programme he participated in the management of the planning and programming process of the OP. He managed the process of setting up OP Managing Authority and programme delivery structures (Final Beneficiaries and Intermediary bodies) as well as Programme Monitoring Committee and led the Managing Authority until establishing Vital Pro Ltd. As head of Managing Authority for the Interreg CI programmes, too, he participated in setting up Interreg and neighbourhood programmes and managing institutions and led negotiations on the 2004-2006 programmes with the European Commission.
In Vital Pro, besides his work as CEO he participates directly as advisor mainly in the assignments aiming at improving complex institutional and regional strategies, at developing leadership skills and in personal management consultancy activities.
